This journal is published by the Iranian Society for Biomedical Engineering (ISBME) which is the most credible and prestigious scientific society of biomedical engineering in Iran which it's members are the most prominent professors in the fields of biomedical engineering. In addition, this journal is listed in the journals of the Iran's Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and also indexed in several prestigious citation databases.

The minimum time required to review an article is 2 months, but this time depends on many factors, which makes this time different for each article and may exceed 2 months. Following the Ijbme paper template, compliance with the article submission guidelines, the scientific quality of the article, the number of reviewers in the field of the article, etc. are the factors affecting the time required to review and evaluate an article. However, all the efforts of the journal's team are focused on accelerating the process of reviewing and evaluating articles.

In this journal, based on the regulations of the Publications Commission of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (2021) for determining the cost of processing an article in open access scientific journals, the author is charged 15,000,000 rials for the cost of processing and publishing the article, but at present, the initial fee for reviewing the article is not charged.

First the editor recommends a list of reviewers depending on the subject of the article. Then if this list is approved by the editorial board, those reviewers will be assigned to review the article.

The author can (and should) nominate some reviewers for reviewing his/her article during the article submission process. At most one of the proposed reviewres could be in the same university with author. It is obvious that the journal's editorial board has no obligation to use the author's proposed reviewres and invites them to cooperate only at it's discretion.

The corresponding author should be a faculty member of a university or a creditable scientific organization, and his/her email address listed in the website and article should also belongs to the same university or organization. It should be noted that a student cannot be identified as a corresponding author.

The answer is No. The article should include new research findings and it's title, text, content and results (all or even part of it) have not been published anywhere before.

The author must follow the specific template and guidelines for writing an article for this journal (Guide for Authors) and prepare and submit his/her article in accordance with the Ijbme Article Template. Otherwise, the article will be rejected or will be returned to the author for doing corrections.

Generally, there is no limit to the number of pages in an article, but it is recommended that the number of pages in the article (with font size 12) be between 6 and 15 pages, so that all important and main information and results of the research are presented while avoiding unnecessary information.

It is possible to upload figures, diagrams, and tables as separate files in the journal's website, but instead, it is recommended that a high-quality version of them be placed in the main article text and uploaded as a Word file.

After submitting an article to the journal, all required steps are performed by the journal secretariat and important messages are sent to the corresponding author via email. The corresponding author can also see the latest status of the article by referring to his/her account on the journal's website.

After submitting the article, only the corresponding author will be able to view and track the article, and this option is disabled for other authors.

It is possible that emails sent by the journal have ended up in your spam folder or that there has been no change in the status of your article yet. In either case, the corresponding author can view the latest status of the article through his/her account in the journal's website.

"acceptance with major revision" is a conditional acceptance so that the reviewing process of the article is not yet completed and the article will be re-entered in the reviewing process after the author(s) performed the desired corrections.

"acceptance with minor revision" means that reviewer's desired corrections is slight and minor, and if the author performed this corrections, the article will not enter the reviewing process again and the editor-in-chief will directly make the final evaluation of the article.

All individuals with a PhD in fields related to biomedical engineering and faculty members of reputable universities can contribute to this journal as a reviewer. To do so, select the "reviewer" option when registering in the journal's website or contact the journal's secretariat. It should be noted that at present, due to financial constraints, it is unfortunately not possible to pay fees to the reviewers.
